Description:
 
Instruction from qualified and very experienced tutors from the West of Ireland, who give courses throughout the year and in the Gaeltacht during the summer. This course provides students the opportunity to learn from skilled teachers in an intensive one day course, and practice their Irish language comprehension with other students from around the country. As a part of this course, students will benefit from the following activities:
  • Comprehensive notes on picture sequences (in written and audio format).
  • 5 sample/generic orals (in written and audio format).
  • PowerPoint presentation on the structure of the exam, study strategies and do's and don'ts.
  • Group/pair work to allow students to speak/practice.
  • Advice on the reading section of the exam (with a free digital recording of a native speaker reading the poems).
  • Each student will have a full oral exam.
  • The examiner/teacher will offer oral and written feedback.
  • The exam/feedback can be recorded by those who bring a recording device (I phone etc).
  • Group discussion of feedback.
 
Note About Our Tutors
 
The lead tutor is a native Irish speaker with an MA in Irish, he also a leading Irish teacher and has vast examining experience.
 
All oral examiners are qualified Irish teachers with many years of teaching/examining experience with most teaching courses in the Gaeltacht throughout the summer.

Time: 9:30a.m. – 4:00p.m. (45 minutes for lunch)
Price: €125.00
* €50 booking deposit required. The balance is payable on the day of the course.
